The Neurophysiology Labs

The neurophysiology labs provide important diagnostic services at UHN.

Our services:

• Electroencephalography (EEG) - tests to investigate suspected seizure/epileptic disorders and to assess cerebral function
• Evoked Potentials (EP) - tests to diagnose multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative processes and inflammatory conditions of the nervous system
• Epilepsy Montoring Unit (EMU) - a special unit in which video and EEG monitoring are done simultaneously and continuously (1 to 15 days) to locate the source of the seizure/epileptic processes and to identify the seizures as either psychological or epileptic seizures
