Ocular Genetics

List of Clinics A - Z Glossary Patient Education Maps and Directions KNC Team Information for Health Professionals Research Initiatives and Innovations

Ocular genetics focuses on genetic disorders associated with visual diseases and conditions. The goal of the ocular genetics team is to improve the diagnosis, management and treatment of such conditions.

Our Ocular Genetics clinic represents the only such clinic in the country.

Dr. Mark Mandlecorn

Patients and their families are assessed as a unit.
In addition to clinical examinations, numerous investigations ranging from visual fields, photography, electrophysiological testing, and genetic analyses are performed.

The goal of the clinic is not only to diagnose genetic eye disease, but also to give patients and their families information about their disease, and information about risks to future generations.
