Vision: Educating for Patient-Centred Care
Mission: Our mission is to support patients and their families in their search for education to facilitate informed decision-making, healthy behaviours, autonomy and effective coping strategies.
Goals: The Patient Education Network at PMH is dedicated to educating and supporting our patients, their families and members of the community by providing the latest information on cancer treatment, recovery, and prevention and to encourage them to take an active role in their own care.
Our goals are to:
- Make sure that our programs respond to what you want to know, when you what to know it, and to make sure that learning activities provide you with information that is easy to understand in ways you like to learn.
- Include patients, family members, healthcare providers, volunteers and community representatives when planning and evaluating patient education materials and activities.
- Find opportunities to support our local community and to reach out to the global community using new technologies.
- Discover new ways to educate and support patients and their families.
Our dedicated education team is committed to being recognized as leaders in the field of patient education.
