Telehealth Program
Telehealth is the use of information and communication technologies to provide health care when provider and recipient are separated by distance.
Access to care is a recurring theme in the goals of Canadian health-care providers and government agencies. Telehealth covers the great Canadian barrier to access: geography. Physicians and allied health-care providers at UHN will have the option of offering video conferencing to patients who currently travel many hours and incur significant personal costs to obtain care. UHN has partnered with the NORTH Network to offer residents of Northern Ontario access to care through this established and expanding telehealth network.
